I angled the hose from bottom to top so that any condensation that might build up in the hoses would run back down to the drain near the tank outlet (where the dryer/filter/separator is) 50' of 3/8 air hose line is like 20 dollars, which is actually cheaper than PVC and fittings! 3/8 in. sure is alot easier and safer than 4 or 5 runs of pvc/joints/etc.and its behind pallet racking so youll never see it anyway. While just about everyone I know uses PVC for air lines and outlets along walls, for the longer runs I actually just ran 3/8 rubber line from harbor freight all the way to the far side of the garage to plumb into an air hose reel. I use a small 3' rubber line (northern tool/harbor freight) to attach the tank to the filter/dryer on the wall.and from there you can run anywhere else in the garage you want. put a ball valve right at the outlet so i can shut off air to everything (i fucking suck at fixing leaks in fittings, so ill just shut off the valve right at the tank outlet whenever i know im not going to be in the garage or use air tools in the near future). I try to use only electrical/battery operated impacts and stuff because they are quieter.Īir gets used on tyre machine, bead blaster, and my mill has an air powered mister on it, so it will be hissing away while I'm using it.Īnd my quick connect for air tools are Milton "A" style, you can snap them on single handily, don't have to pull the sleeve back on the female connector to connect a tool.Ħ0gallon single stage. The damper rod sometimes (most times) turns in the fork, so they have to be spun out at high RPM's. But, some tymes you need a pneumatic iimpact to get enough to spin something loose, like a bolt in the bottom of a fork. My Dewalt 1/2 battery powered impact has at least 1,100 foot pounds torks. Twenty years ago when I set this up, PVC was the only affordable option. It is plumbed underground, via PVC piping, to the working garage.

common Milton plugs, so very affordable and easy to get more when you buy. Has a good sized K&N air filter on the end of a Thrush muffler on the intake. Some from Tractor Supply, some from Harbor Freight, maybe a couple others from. One could feed a 2x4 into it and it would reduce the 2x4 to sanding dust a about as fast as one could feed the monster! Of course this was done when the teacher had left the building! I saw a guy get his hand caught between the disk and the table while doing something very stupid.Eighty gallon two stage, stands over six feet tall. I was educated with a sander that had about a 30" disk powered by a 7.5 hp motor. Often times the seller will throw in additional items that are great to have. Avoid the imported stuff!!!! Oh yes, a dust collector connection is a great feature. Be prepared to travel and pay a bit more but you will get much more than what what you can buy that is presently made today. Where does on find these oldies? Look on line, local newspapers,Craigs List etc.

These are great machines that will last for many many years and do very accurate work. and other machines that have been made from CAST IRON. Look for an older American made machine like Oliver, Rockwell. Kindly permit me to make a few suggestions: Never had any problems using it in this manner

I have used it for many years on both hard and soft woods with 80-100 grit paper disks attached. This is an old washing machine motor that turns the disk at 1725 rpm. I use a disk sander that is is 9.5" in diameter and powered bu a 1/3 h.p.
